Orle (heraldry)

Inboard, also inboard, is in heraldry a name for a herald image, which is a abgerückter from the edge of the shield board in the proper sense.

For this representation, different terms are stationary in the coat of arms description. So it is an inside mount or only inside version. Also, it is called a collar, hem or relocation. It is important that the tincture of the shield remains the same and is not changed by this "floating edge ". But is a color change between inside and outside is present, explains the heraldist this figure as a double mount. It is then emblazoned as a back-plate, that is, it is a normal bebordeter sign on a second, larger, shield on. This interpretation of the coat of arms image has become obsolete and the allowable expressions edge and (double) board or mount stress the unity of the shield.

The inboard can be altered by cuts and occupancy by crest figures (see detailed board, with the same rules ).

An outside and inside bestecktes with lilies twin sense board we find the coat of arms of Scotland. The Drilling sense board consists of three nested Borden, with the tincture of the individual inner shelves not necessarily have to be the same.
