Orly Castel-Bloom

Orly Castel- Bloom ( * November 26, 1960 in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli writer.

Life

Orly Castel- Bloom was born in the north of Tel Aviv as a child of Egyptian Jews. She studied film at the University of Tel Aviv. As a writer, she published in 1987 her works. She was voted one of the 50 most influential women of Israel in 1999. Castel- Bloom influenced the modern Israeli literature prevail. Her novel Dolly City has received several awards, included in the UNESCO Collection of Representative Works and adapted for a play.
