ORMO

Ochotnicza Rezerwa Milicji Obywatelskiej ( ORMO ) ( German: Voluntary Reserve of the Citizens Militia ) was a paramilitary organization in Poland, roughly comparable to the fighting groups of the working class in the GDR.

The ORMO was founded in 1946 and 1989, dissolved by the Sejm.

The ORMO consisted of up to about 400,000 members who are recruited mainly of members of the Polish United Workers Party but also the peasant party United People's Party and the Democratic Party ZSL and SD from nonparty.
