Orpheus Chamber Orchestra

The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra is an American chamber orchestra based in the Riverside Church, New York.

The orchestra was founded in 1972 by cellist Julian Fifer and other musicians. A special feature of the orchestra is that it basically works without a conductor. These musicians have a special team-based structure and a voting procedure developed which is referred to as " Orpheus Process". For each item concertmaster and section leader to be redefined. This group developed the concept for interpretation and samples; to orchestra members put in the final sample alternately into the concert hall, to balance, tonal blend, dynamics, inter alia, to evaluate.

The " Orpheus Process" is now being promoted by consultancies and non - musical team building and conflict resolution processes.
