Orplid

Orplid is a Founded in 1996 under the motto of " preservation and revitalization of German poetry " musical group from Halle an der Saale. Musically, the band between neofolk and neoclassical.

The founders are Frank Machau and Uwe Nolte. Other members at Orplid were and are Claudia Arndt ( music, composition & singing ), Volker Willhardt (composition), Nadine Spindler and Sandra Fink (vocals ).

The name Orplid refers to a poem by Eduard Moerike, called " singing Weylas ". In it a paradisiacal island is described beyond the sea, where even divine harmony prevails and harmony reigns. Also ORPLID plant is a refuge of poetry, Beauty & vocals offer the friends of their music. Your whole concept of language, music and representative images could be broadly described as " lyrical art."

The theme of the songs ranges from Germanic paganism, Greek mythology to the Christian symbolism of the early Middle Ages and natural romance. In addition to self-written by Uwe Nolte verses often the works of famous German poets such as Friedrich Schiller, Annette von Droste- Hulshoff, Joseph von Eichendorff, Gottfried Benn and Frank Wedekind were set to music.

Other musical projects from the artistic environment of Orplid are sundew, Barditus (Uwe Nolte ) and primus inter pares ( Frank Machau ).
