Orren C. Moore

Orren Cheney Moore ( born August 10, 1839 in New Hampton, Belknap County, New Hampshire, † May 12, 1893 in Nashua, New Hampshire ) was an American politician. Between 1889 and 1891 he represented the State of New Hampshire in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Orren Moore attended the common schools and then served an apprenticeship in the printing trade. He was then working as a journalist. In 1869 he founded the newspaper " Nashua Daily Telegraph ". Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. Between 1863 and 1878 he was several times as a delegate in the House of Representatives from New Hampshire. In 1878 he was a member of the Tax Commission of the State of; 1879-1881 he was a member of the State Senate. In 1887 he was elected again in the House of Representatives of his State. From 1884 to 1888 Moore directed the Railway Committee of New Hampshire.

1888 Moore became the second Congressional District of New Hampshire in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC selected. There he met on March 4, 1889 the successor of Jacob Harold Gallinger. But since he 1890 the Democrats Warren F. Daniell was defeated in the elections of the year, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1891. After the end of his time in the House of Representatives Moore took his old journalistic activities again. He died in May 1893 in Nashua.
