Orrville is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Ohio. Orrville has about 8,500 inhabitants ( as of 2000). The city was founded in 1864 by Smith Orr, who recognized the economic possibilities at the intersection of the newly built railway lines from Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago Railroad and Columbus, Mt Vernon and Cleveland Railroad.

Economy

The economy in Orrville is mainly influenced by the food processing industry and the metal industry. The largest local company is founded in 1897, the food company JM Smucker, which employs about 1,000 people locally. The publicly-traded on the New York Stock Exchange, the company is known for its jams. The second largest local companies with more than 300 employees, the dairy company, Smith Dairy, founded in 1909.

The 1970 under the name Contours Ltd.. Founded company Bekaert - Orrville Ltd.. produces semi-finished steel, flat and round wire, and employs nearly 200 people in Orrville.
