Orsanmichele

Exterior

Orsanmichele (actually: Or San Michele, former name of San Michele in Orto ) is a church building in Florence of the Archdiocese of Florence. The two - or three-story building from the era of Romanesque and Gothic is located entirely within the street block Via dei Calzaiuoli, Via Arte della Lana, Calimaruzza Via and Via di Orsanmichele. The ground floor is the art museum Chiesa e Museo di Orsanmichele, Firenze. The building initially served as a granary, before the fire in 1337 on the ground floor, after reconstruction in the upper floors.
