Orsay

Orsay is a commune in the Essonne department in Île -de -France region. It belongs to Arrondissement Palaiseau and is the capital of the canton of the same name.

Geography

The suburb with 15,903 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) located in the valley of the Yvette 30 km south-southwest from the center of Paris.

Infrastructure

The city is home to the predominantly scientific branch of the University of Paris XI. (Mathematics, physics, biology, medicine, sports science ). The campus is one of the largest physics research facilities in France, including a Research Center for Nuclear Physics.
