Ortaca is a district with the same name town in southwest Turkey. Formerly belonging to Koycegiz, Ortaca 1987 independently. The circle Ortaca heard as more town of Dalyan.

Known neighboring towns are Dalaman and Dalyan.

The name literally means " town in the middle ", perhaps an indication of its location in the middle of a plain. The city thrives on this fertile plain with the cultivation of tomatoes, citrus fruits, cotton and pomegranates. Market day is Friday, pushing to the numerous visitors from the surrounding area in the city.

Tourism

Tourist significant sites in the county are Ortaca Sarıgerme and Ortaca. Thanks to its location and the warm but windy Mediterranean climate they enjoy growing tourist influx. The summer visitors come from the UK, Germany and in increasing numbers from the states of the former Soviet Union. Dalyan has to focus on rather small hotels and pensions. Sarıgerme with its miles of sandy beach interspersed with several large all-inclusive hotels on travel agency tourism.

Traffic

Ortaca located on the coast road D400 between Muğla and Fethiye. The airport of Dalaman is about 15 minutes drive away, the small town of Dalyan 10 minutes and Sarıgerme 20 minutes. From the bus station ( otogar ) of the city can be reached by bus Istanbul, Antalya and other big cities of Turkey. Dolmus from here connect Ortaca including with Sarıgerme, Dalyan, Fethiye, Muğla and Marmaris.
