ORWOhaus

The ORWOhaus in the Berlin district of Marzahn is a seven-storey industrial building from the 1970s, which was used until the turn as a production facility the film manufacturer ORWO. It stands in the middle of an industrial area between railway tracks and the six-lane Landsberger Allee; a few kilometers to the east are the skyscrapers of Marzahn.

History

In 1990, the house passed to the inventory of Treuhandliegenschaftsgesellschaft ( TLG). Since there was no buyer, the premises were used between after years of vacancy as bearing surfaces of smaller companies. In spring 2004, a serious fire safety deficiencies were noted by the Building Department, whereupon the owner terminated all leases in June 2004. The ORWOhaus eV has seven permanent employees in 2011 and is funded completely independently.

Musicians platform

The ORWOhaus is a popular place in Berlin for musicians and artists. This platform provides approximately 4000 square sample areas ( around the clock recordable), meeting, recording studios, music -related services and joint activities such as concerts and events - organized centrally by the ORWOhaus club.
