OSADL

The Open Source Automation Development Lab ( OSADL ) is a registered cooperative with the aim to promote the development of open source software for the machine and plant engineering and automation industry and to co-ordinate. It represents the interests of special machine builders, manufacturers of automation hardware and software as well as open source software service providers. Member of the cooperative may be any business worldwide.

Foundation

At the foundation of various forms of society (association, foundation, GmbH, cooperative, etc.) were discussed. The close relationship between the content and ethical formulated in the 19th century co-operative thought and only a few decades old open source movement was decisive to form a cooperative. It was founded on 8 December 2005; in August 2006, OSADL was entered in the register of cooperative societies in the Register Stuttgart under the number 440085.
