Osage County (Kansas)

Osage County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Lyndon.

Geography

The County is located in east-central Kansas, is about 80 km from Missouri and has an area of 1863 square kilometers, of which 41 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Shawnee County, Douglas County, Franklin County, Coffey County, Lyon County and Wabaunsee County.

History

Osage County was formed on 11 February 1859. It was named after the Osage River.
