The Osage River is a 276 km long right tributary of the Missouri River in the U.S. state of Missouri. The Osage River is one of the largest rivers in Missouri. The river drains mainly rural areas. The catchment area is 15,300 km ² and comprises east- central Kansas and a large part of west -central Missouri, where he drains the northwest part of the Ozark Plateau. The river flows mostly to the east. In the last 80 km, it changes its flow direction to the north- east until it meets the Missouri River. A large part of the river was transformed into a seascape - consisting of the two reservoirs Harry S. Truman Reservoir and Lake of the Ozarks.
