Osanna

Osanna is an Italian progressive rock band that was founded in 1971 in Naples.

Band History

The end of 1970 Elio D' Anna met the band Città Frontale, in the then Lino Vairetti, Danilo Rustici, Lello Brandi, Gianni Leone and Massimo Guarino played. Without Leone Osanna they founded in February 1971 and played their first gigs with new pieces. That same year, their debut album was released, the band fell through theatrically staged concerts and toured with Genesis in Italy. The following year, Osanna composed the film score for Fernando Di Leo Milano Calibro 9 Another album, Palepoli, and is followed with its bulky and playful progressive rock than most outstanding work of the band.

During the recording of the next album is Osanna dissolved in 1974 temporarily in dispute on, among the musical quality of the sometimes style similar to the English-speaking mainstream rock songs suffered. The musicians continued to work in rotation with other bands - with Uno, Nova and a revitalized Città Frontale. Osanna came in 1977 or 1978 with a different line for another, again Italian language album together again and dissolved in 1979 because of the lack of success seemingly permanently on.

Only after twenty years of the founding members Vairetti Rustici and formed the band again. Despite several lineup changes since then followed by numerous performances and publications with live recordings, new recordings of older pieces and new compositions.
