Oscar Schiele

Oskar Schiele ( born April 14, 1889 in Halberstadt, † July 1, 1950 in Magdeburg ) was a German swimmer.

In his swimming records freestyle and back, he participated in the 1906 Summer Olympics in Athens and the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm.

In 1906 he won a silver medal with the German 4 × 250 - meter relay. In freestyle competition over a mile, he was seventh. Six years later in Stockholm, he left both the 400m freestyle and the 100m backstroke in the flow. He also belonged to the 4 × to 200-meter freestyle relay that finished fourth.

He also won the English King Price 1905-1913 five times. This renowned in his time Price was held in open water about 150 yards and 440 yards freestyle breast. Schiele, who took first for the Halberstadt swimming club and later for the Magdeburg MSC 1896, moreover, achieved national and international records.
