Osiris (journal)

Osiris is a scientific journal for the history of science. Published annually, it is published by the University of Chicago. It was founded in 1936 by George Sarton and is an official journal of the History of Science Society ( HSS). Between 1969 and 1984 no issues appeared; In 1985, the HSS publication in a second series again.

While the quarterly sister magazine Isis, also the official journal of the HSS, widely scattered articles on the history of science, medicine and technology, and their cultural and historical importance published, the Osiris focused on particularly significant aspects of these areas. Newer editions also cover topics such as politics and science in times of war, pollution of the environment, urban planning and social science.
