Oskaloosa is a small town in the U.S. state of Kansas in the United States and the administrative center ( county seat ) of Jefferson County. According to the census in 2000 1165 inhabitants living in 439 households in Oskaloosa.

In Town Square is the Jefferson County Court, and is the central point of the town. In addition, locate various services such as the Country Lanes ( bowling), Gambino 's Pizza (Pizzeria ), Thriftway Grocery Store (food), several gas stations (including Casey's, butcher ) and some more. Also located in the lovingly by its inhabitants " Oskie " place called the Oskaloosa High School ( Home of the Bears), which in the 1990s to one of the top 100 high schools in the United States belonged (People Magazine ).
