Oskar Aichinger

Oskar Aichinger (* 1956 in Vöcklabruck ) is an Austrian composer and pianist of the Modern Creative Jazz.

Life and work

Aichinger grew up in Puchheim. In 1974 he began studying at the University of Leoben. From 1976 to 1983 he studied music at the Mozarteum at Salzburg University. From 1979 he headed various ensembles; between 1984 and 1986, he worked as ballet at the Vienna State Opera. Since 1990, he turned to jazz and improvised music; First he played in a duo with stone Aich Irrding Hans Steiner and in a duo with Walter Malli. He also worked as a pianist and conductor until 1996 Burkhard Stangl maxixe. In 1996 he formed a private octet (including with Max Nagl, Lorenz Raab, Joanna Lewis, Andrew Jeszek, Achim Tang and Patrice Héral ). He also worked with Franz Koglmann, Oswald Eggers, Franz Koglmann and Paul Skrepek. In the trio Blood he interpreted with Michael Moore and John Edwards Music by Carla Bley, Annette Peacock, Paul Bley and Jimmy Giuffre.
