Oskar Andersson

Oskar Emil Andersson ( born January 11, 1877 Kungsholmen in Stockholm, † November 28, 1906 at Ekerö ) was a Swedish cartoonist and one of Sweden's first real comic manufacturers.

At twenty, he debuted with his caricatures in Söndags Nisse magazine, where he soon got a contract of employment. Inspired by the early comic artists from the U.S. and England in the late 19th century drew Anderson, the first recurring comic strips in Sweden around the turn of the century: Bröderna Napoleon och Bartholomeus från Lunds Grönkoping Resa Jorden runt ( about two brothers on a world tour ), Mannen Som Vad brat Som Faller Honom in ( about a man who makes everything that comes to mind ) and Urhunden ( a prehistoric dog and its owner ).

In 1906 he committed suicide, apparently suffering from depression, suicide.
