The architecture and design school Oslo ( AHO, Norwegian Arkitektur -og designhøgskolen i Oslo and formerly Arkitekthøgskolen i Oslo ) is a public research university that offers training in architecture, industrial design, urban planning and landscape architecture, was established in 1945. The school is located in Oslo and has about 600 students and 120 employees in 2013.

The English name of the university is The Oslo School of Architecture and Design.

Organization

The school is divided into four departments:

  • Department of Architecture
  • Institute for Urban and Landscape Planning
  • Institute for form, theory and history
  • Institute of Industrial Design

AHO is a leading Nordic institution in the research of architecture and design. The research is divided as projects among departments and organized.

The research program is organized as a separate academic and administrative unit. The same applies to the AHO Library and various workshops.
