Osmaci ( Serbian Cyrillic Осмаци ) is a municipality in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It belongs to Republika Srpska and was created by the separation of the eastern part of the municipality Kalesija result of the Dayton Agreement in Bosnia after the war. The remaining three quarters of the old community Kalesija today belong to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Geography

The community is located between the towns of Zvornik and Kalesija. The districts are between 200 and 400 meters above sea level.

The municipality consists of the villages Borogovo, Caparde, Gojčin ( unpopulated part ), Hajvazi, Kosovača, Kulina Kusonje, Mahala Matkovac, Osmaci ( partial), Rakino Brdo, Sajtovići, seers, and Viličevići Zelina (partially).

Population

At the last census in 1991 had those populated districts of Kalesija that today the community Osmaci form, a total of 7,252 inhabitants. Of these, 4,034 as Serbs ( 55.6 %) and 3,170 as Bosniaks ( 43.7 %) indicated. Nine villages had a Serbian majority, five a Bosniak. In the three villages Borogovo, Kosovača and Rakino Brdo exclusively Serbs lived.

At the 2013 census, the municipality had a total of abundant Osmaci 6,000 inhabitants.

Infrastructure

Through the municipal area run the main road 4 ( Tuzla - Zvornik ) and the railway Tuzla - Zvornik.
