Osmar White

Osmar Egmont Dorkin White ( born April 2, 1909 in Feilding, New Zealand, † 1991) was an Australian journalist, correspondent and writer. He also wrote under the pseudonyms Robert dentry, EM Dorkin and Maros Gray.

Life

1914 White moved the age of five with his family to Australia and spent his childhood in Katoomba. His career as a journalist, he began as a freelancer for the Wagga Wagga Advertiser and occasional writer for the Sydney Daily Telegraph while he studied at the University of Sydney. From 1928 to 1933 he worked as a freelance writer in South and Southeast Asia and New Guinea.

Notoriety he achieved through his reports from the war in the Pacific and the resulting entstandenem book Green Armour. End of 1944, White was sent by Sir Keith Murdoch to Europe, where he was assigned by General George S. Patton 3rd Army, as they conquered Germany and the occupation of the Third Reich began. His impressions he wrote in the book Conqueror 's Road Lower, which although already publishers were found in 1946 banned by the censors and not printed. Only in 2004 the book was published and released in 2005 under the title The road of the winner in German language.

White received recognition for its unbiased and impartial reporting.
