Ostara is an Australian rock and neo-folk group that was founded in 1991 under the name of Strength Through Joy. In spite of the National Socialist community power ajar by joy name indicate the musicians no Nazi ideology, but talk of an interest in their view, associated with the name of the organization irony; Richard Leviathan is also of Jewish origin (actually Richard Jason Levy ).

History

After sending some demo recordings at Douglas Pearce of Death in June, the Strength Through Joy Single Dark Rose, her debut The Force of Truth and Lies and the double CD Salute to Light produced and published. 1999 attracted musicians from Australia to Levy to England and to Germany or Ireland. Because of the associations of the project name they chose the name Ostara, which, however, due to the issued by Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels ariosophs magazine Ostara also causes corresponding associations. The debut under the new name Ostara, Secret Homeland, was released. It focused mainly on esoteric topics and the Valkyrie, during the time of National Socialism in Germany.

Once the style has changed in recent years from a simple Neofolk rock music, the band with the acoustic album The Only Solace again approached the neofolk genre. So they played in 2008 with the neofolk groups Lux Interna, and Air Force.
