Ostereistedt is a municipality in the Lower Saxon Selsingen, Landkreis Rotenburg ( Wümme) in Lower Saxony.

Geography

The municipality covers an area of 28.5 km ². She is heavily agricultural.

History

Ostereistedt consists of the districts Ostereistedt and Rockstedt and belongs to Samtgemeinde Selsingen.

The name of Rockstedt can be interpreted in different ways. One version says that the name refers to a Kolk or Wodansrabendorf. (Of de Rood = Raven ) On the other hand, the name could also be called a rye or fruit plant. Documented Rockstedt was first mentioned in 1153, mentioned his name as Rocstede and as Kolkrabendorf ( from Rook = Raven ) was conceived.

Ostereistedt whose name is no longer unique to clarify, but probably due to " oak establishment" is, but just as a settler named Eike ( corner hardware ) could be attributed, is exactly on the watershed between the rivers Elbe and Weser. The water in the northern part flows over ditches and streams in Hamme and Weser. The water in the southern part flows over bath and Oste into the Elbe.

Coat of arms

Blazon: The coat of arms shows in the golden ground through a green sloping left wave beams divided in the upper box and a black raven in the lower left field three coronary affiliated green oak leaves, each with an acorn.

Culture and sights

Exactly how each is in Himmelpfortgrund in Brandenburg and Lower Saxony Himmelspforten in a Christmas post office, there are Ostereistedt such thing as a "Easter Bunny Central ". Children can send " Hanni Hare" letters and e -mails. Furthermore, a program takes place every year on Easter Sunday.

  • Eckes Hus

The " Eckes Hus " is the only remaining smoke house in the district of Rotenburg. It was built in 1564.

Traffic

The breakpoint Ostereistedt was on the railway line Wilstedt - Tostedt. This is decommissioned.
