Osterhausen is since 1 January 2009 a city district of Mansfeld- Eisleben in the district of South Harz in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ). The district comprises the villages Sittichenbach, small and large Osterhausen, by the latter flows the Rhone.
Geography
The place is about 10 km south of Eisleben near the B 180 and the A 38
History
For the first time Osterhausen is mentioned in a deed of the Carolingian king Charles, in which he 777 the chapel to Osterhausen gives the Hersfeld Abbey. In a resulting 881-899 Directory of tithing of Hersfeld Monastery ( Hersfeld tithe directory) called wholesale and Kleinosterhausen as tenth subject Osterhusa places in the district of Friesland field. After the place is also the Saxon- Thuringian noble family of Osterhausen named. Wholesale and Kleinosterhausen belonged until 1815 to the Saxon Office Sittichenbach of the Kingdom of Saxony, and then got to the circular cross- ford of the district of the Prussian province of Saxony Merseburg.
On 1 January 2009 the then independent municipality Osterhausen was incorporated to Eisleben.
