Osuitok Ipeelee

Osuitok Ipeelee ( born November 13, 1923 in Neeouleeutalik Camp, Nunavut, † December 31, 2005 in Cape Dorset, Canada) was a Canadian Inuit sculptor and printmaker.

Life and work

Oshaweetok / B Oshooweetook known as Osuitok Ipeelee lived all his life in Cape Dorset. Even his ancestors lived in West Baffin Iceland and were known for their intricate carvings.
