Oswald Pilloud

Ignace Nazaire Oswald Pilloud ( born July 27, 1873 in Châtel -Saint -Denis, † July 6, 1946 in Freiburg) was a Swiss painter

Life

Pilloud Oswald was born in 1873 in Châtel -Saint- Denis. Between 1896 and 1899 he attended the Technicum in Freiburg, where he had the famous painter Ferdinand Hodler as a teacher. There he studied with Raymond Buchs, Hiram Brülhart and Jean -Edouard de Castella. Then he went to Paris and studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere and the Academie Colarossi.

After his return from France in 1905, he taught drawing in Freiburg on Technicum. Two years later he became a member of the Society of Swiss Painters, sculptors, architects and visual artists.
