Geography

Rivers and Creeks

Historically, it was the Flottbeck ( originally probably Vlothbeke ) ( headwaters north of the road Quellental in the Westerpark ), the Teufelsbek (responsible for the name of the jetty Teufelsbrück on the Elbe, the headwaters of the Baur road at Othmarschen Park ) and the Röbbek in the streets Röbbek and lake road ( the headwaters of the wholesale market Flottbeker ). The Röbbek is received only by the street name. The original riverbed dried up, was filled and is detectable only in a few places by slight subsidence. Flottbeck and Teufelsbek are also largely dried up (also by changes in groundwater Elbtunnelbau permitting), partly cased. A grave section of the Teufelsbek is obtained in the Walderseestraße between Reventlowstraße and A7 - junction. Likewise, the course of Teufelsbek and Flottbeck be seen in Jenischpark; both streams drain into the Elbe.
