Otman Bakkal

Otman Bakkal (born 27 February 1985 in Eindhoven ) is a Dutch football player.

Career

Association

Otman Bakkal comes from the youth of PSV Eindhoven. Since 2003 he is a member of the senior squad. In the 2003 /04 season he made his debut for the Dutch, but only played twice in the season. For the following season Bakkal was awarded to the second division side FC Den Bosch, but there he could not prevail. In the season 2005/ 06 Bakkal was awarded again - this time to the city rivals FC Eindhoven. There he became a regular player in the Eerste Divisie and scored eight goals in 33 games.

The breakthrough in professional football he succeeded in the 2006/07 season in Eindhoven and FC Twente Enschede Erstligarivalen with three goals in 31 games. Then decided Eindhoven Responsible bring him back. Until the 2010/11 season he belonged to the tribe of the team of Fred Rutten. In the season 2011/12 he was awarded again; Feyenoord saw in him the ideal gain after Leroy Fer was changed to FC Twente. National

With the U -21 of the Netherlands in 2007, he was European champion. He came here in all five games for, scoring the 1-0 4-1 win in the final against Serbia.

For the 2008 Summer Olympics he was appointed to the Netherlands squad. The team survived the first round and had to go into the quarter-finals of the Argentine selection measure. After the Argentines took the lead 1-0, Bakkal to level. The winner for the Gauchos fell in the 105th minute of extra time.

In November 2009, Bond coach Bert van Marwijk called him for the first time in the squad of the national team. He made his debut on November 18, 2009 in Heerenveen against Paraguay when he came on in the 85th minute for Rafael van der Vaart. He was thus the 700th player who was inducted into the Oranje.
