Otmar Bernhard

Otmar Bernhard ( born October 6, 1946 in Munich) is a Bavarian state politician (CSU ) and a member of the Bavarian Landtag. He was Secretary of State from 2005 to 2007 and from 2007 to 2008 Bavarian State Minister for the Environment, Consumer Protection and Health.

Life

Training

Otmar Bernhard was in 1966 at the Ludwig -Gymnasium in Munich city district Sendling -Westpark graduated from high school and then studied law at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich. In 1975, he passed the second state examination in law and his doctorate in 1976 on the topic " proposals for the reorganization of the Baubodenmarktes and their conformity with the Basic Law." After Bernhard entered the higher administrative service of the State of Bavaria.

From 1979 to 1987, Bernhard office manager of the Bavarian State Minister for Federal Affairs and European Affairs, Peter Schmidhuber. In 1988 he was appointed Deputy Managing Director of the CSU parliamentary group and joined in 1989 as Ministerial in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance.

Party

He is a member of the CSU since 1970. Bernhard was county chairman of the CSU Munich - West by 1999 to 2004. September 18, 2004 he was elected District Chairman of the Munich CSU after Monika hollow Meier had resigned in connection with the "Munich CSU affair" of this office. Political offices

Minister of State for Environment, Consumer Protection and Health

From Prime Minister Günther Beck Bernhard Stein was appointed on 16 October 2007 as the successor to Werner Schnappauf Minister of State for the Environment, Consumer Protection and Health. Prime Minister Horst Seehofer did not call him again in the state government, from which he therefore retired in October 2008.

Private

Otmar Bernhard is married to Gisela Mayrhofer since 2003. He worked as a lawyer in Munich until his appointment to the Bavarian state government and has included this activity again in November 2008.

Awards

On 20 June 2001 Otmar Bernhard was awarded by Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber, the Bavarian Order of Merit. On 20 February 2008 Landtagspräsident Alois has excellent luck in Maximilianeum Otmar Bernhard with the Bavarian Constitution Medal in gold.
