Ottavio Bugatti

Ottavio Bugatti ( born September 25, 1928 in Lentate sul Seveso ) is a former Italian football goalkeeper who aground during his playing career for Seregno Calcio, SPAL, Napoli and Inter Milan, as well as for the Italian national football team.

Career

Ottavio Bugatti started his career in 1950 at Seregno Calcio, at whose side the goalkeeper his first experience in professional football collected. A year later he was taken from SPAL under contract and completed in the next two seasons in the top league, Serie A, numerous roles for the SPAL. The following year, Bugatti got his first squad for the Italian selection for which he made his debut on 16 July 1952 in the qualifying match for the 1952 Olympics against the United States. In the 8-0 victory over the Americans also the keeper did not concede a goal. In five days later following first round game against the eventual Olympic champion Hungary, the Italians, however, remained a chance and documents with 0:3.

After this event, the goalkeeper was not considered in the next five years for the national team. A year later he joined the SSC Naples, where he became the undisputed choice goalkeeper and played for the next eight years, a total of 256 league games for Naples. In 1957 and 1958 he even received five appearances for the national team. Bugatti managed not to convince and received ten goals conceded and only won the game on December 22, 1957 against Portugal.

In 1961 he moved to Inter Milan, but was brought there only as a substitute goalkeeper and could not free himself from his competitors Lorenzo Buffon. Two years later, after his departure, it no longer, he managed to build on its achievements in Naples and completed his last league game on January 10, 1965 against Catania Calcio.

Although he had hardly get match practice, he won with Inter Milan in the years 1963 and 1965 the Italian championship in 1964 and 1965 the European Champions Cup, and in the last two years, the World Cup.
