The Ottbergen railway station is a regional railway junction in the district Ottbergen the Hoexter North Rhine -Westphalia. The train station is on the railway line Altenbeken - Kreiensen which is single track and double track towards Altenbeken towards Kreiensen. In addition, in Ottbergen branches the railway line from Ottbergen - Northeim ( Solling Railway ).

History

1861 a small Lokstation was established for the extension of the Brunswick Southern Railway ( Duchy of Brunswick State Railway ) of wood Minden to Altenbeken. A real boom began in 1878 with the opening of the railway from Solling Ottbergen above ground field to Northeim and continue to Nordhausen. The increase mainly of freight traffic between the metropolitan areas of the Ruhr in the west and Nordhausen / Halle / Leipzig in the east in the 1930s required a steady expansion of the railway depot. The intensive goods traffic was significantly reduced by the division of Germany. The locomotives of Class 44 coined until the 1970s, freight from the Weser Hills to the resin. In the late 1960s the operation Directorate Hannover pulled out all the remaining 44er together in Ottbergen. There were at times up to 45 serviceable machines located there. After the operation of trains on the track Taught -Braunschweig- Helmstedt was also electrified, ended May 29, 1976, the closing of the Bw Ottbergen steam train operation. Meanwhile, the actual station building is closed.

Operation

The Ottbergen station is currently served by two regional rail lines. One runs between Paderborn and Minden wood, the other begins in Ottbergen and moves in the direction of Göttingen.

The RB 84 is from the North Western Railway ( NCA ), the RB 85 was operated until 1913 by DB Regio. A pair of trains ran until 2013 in the week also from ground field to Nordhausen about Northeim ( Han).

In December 2013, the North Western Railway has also taken on the regional train line 85 and should then provide continuous connections from Paderborn Hbf to Kreiensen and Göttingen. The regional train lines 84 and 85 would then be united between Paderborn and Ottbergen. This outflanking was in 2013 but not yet performed.

Buses leave from the train station Ottbergen in the directions Brakel, Hoexter, Bruchhausen and Bosseborn.

Others

In the model Federal Railroad in Bad Driburg the train station is next to the train station of Bad Driburg one of the central motifs of the model railway.
