Geographical Location

Ottenstein is on the Ottensteiner plateau above the Weser valley between the Solling and the natural park forested mountains. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde ground Werder Polle, which has its headquarters in the city Bodenwerder.

History

The Ottenstein Castle and the spots were first documented in 1182; established they were apparently of Otto VIII of Everstein.
