Otterbach (Bühler)

BW

The Otterbach is a good 7 km long creek on the Haller level in northeastern Baden -Württemberg, the left- opens in Ilshofen- Oberscheffach in the Buhler.

Geography

Course

The Otterbach rises to about 405 m above sea level. NN on the L 2218, just east of the junction of the K 2658 in the direction of Schwäbisch Hall Eltershofen, on a hill of intensive arable Haller level. At the very beginning a mere feldweg accompanying trickle, the stream its first 2 km flows southeast on Altenhausen to happen while the landing place of Schwäbisch Hall Weckrieden in the northeast and runs before Altenhausen in a humid lowlands, once a swampy area.

At the hamlet Altenhausen lying on his right hand, he returns to life to the east, crosses under running on the embankment of a former lake village link road Altenhausen - Veinau and then reaches the outskirts of the village Tüngental. Previously, a begradigtes, in very shallow trough hardly deepened waters, Otterbach now forms the first time Wiesenmäander, then takes the place of the influent from the northwest Lohwiesenbach and digs after passing through this single larger settlement on its banks markedly in here stony nascent underground one. Bach down to the treatment plant Tüngentals reached him from the south of Rössbach which drains the farmland between the Hesse Taler industrial area, the forest in the south Hasenbühl Tüngentals to the Keuper mountains and Matheshörlebach in the southeast of the increase.

Then the stream in a narrow, forested canyon enters to the mouth, the so-called Otterbach blade in which he digs through rock ledges down fluent in about a third of its length about two -thirds of its gradient. After about a third of the gorge trail it flows from left to its longest tributary, the Rotbach, which has its origin in the north-west hamlet Ramsbach; on his last strong half a kilometer also a forest Klingenbachstrasse crashes this inflow few steps in front of the mouth on a man-sized waterfall down.

At the output of Otterbach Blade of Bach is still flowing under a bridge by the K - 2665 Matheshörlebach Großaltdorf and then flows south-west of Talweilers Ilshofen- Oberscheffach in their broad floodplain at about 295 m above sea level. NN after about 7.3 km run from the left in the Buhler.

Catchment area

The Otterbach drains about 15 square kilometers of the eastern Haller level between boiler, Buhler and Limpurger mountains. In the middle of its catchment area is the village of Tüngental whose extreme points are approximately

  • The south of the lower Hasenbühl at Hessental
  • In the west of the Adolf Würth Airport,
  • In the north- west branch of the K 2658 after Eltershofen of the L 2218 Schwäbisch Hall Ilshofen,
  • The north of the water tower Buhler rooms (municipality Braunbach )
  • In the eastern foot of the Talsteige the K 2665 of Jagstrot down to Oberscheffach.

In the southwest and west lie the neighboring catchments of Waschbach at Hessental and betting Bach at Weckrieden that flow to the digester. It is striking that they could win the smaller part of the width of the plateau between cooker and Buhler only, although they have a much lower base level of erosion as the river quite far up into the Buhler which opens Otterbach. In the north- west and north of the boiler inflow Diebach could at Eltershofen and its tributary oil Klingenbachstrasse to Veinau prevail stronger. In the northeast and east, where the watershed little to the left of Rotbachs runs at a distance from receiving Buhler of mostly less than one kilometer have little other Bühler inflows room except hillside streams. In the south, between Buhler and Hasenbühl the diuretic also east to Buhler Sulzdorfer Black Bach laugh a tiny stream competes with its tributaries, between at Jagstrot for Buhler.

In the catchment area of the Otterbaches agriculture predominates. The headwaters of the waters are regularly in flat, damp hollows, where grassland dominates the picture, just on the northern edge of the Hasenbühls and on the airfield in the West. The few forest stands on some small hills, on the slope of the Hasenbühls and said two blades.

A projection of the municipality of Ilshofen with an area of less than 10 ha extends about 400 m from the mouth upstream to the lower Otterbach blade into it; on the north by Buhler Zimmerner water tower owned by the dewatered to Otterbach side of the hill less than 20 ha for community Braunbach. The entire rest of the catchment area belongs to the city of Schwäbisch Hall.

Geology

The largest part of the stream as the entire river basin is located in the Lower Keuper ( Lettenkeuper ); this is at higher elevations on some loess, which offers agriculture very favorable soils for farming. In the far south, the catchment area in Hasenbühl a share of the lower rise to the Limpurger mountains, here is gypsum Keuper ( grave field formation ). The Otterbach blade as the blade of the Rotbaches are in the Upper Muschelkalk.

Credited inflows, indented under the receiving waters, in the direction of the source down to the mouth, so far as they are registered on the TC 25 or LUBW UDO. If in doubt, LUBW UDO was preferred by name, with gradients TK 25 The lengths were measured on the TK 25 and rounded to the nearest 100 m. In between verdolte watercourses interpolated. Only kursivierte names are exactly the same in one of the sources, nichtkursivierte shares of the designations used the unambiguous designation possible, about where both sources provide absolutely no proper names.
