Geographical location

Ottersweier is located in the Upper Rhine Plain between the Black Forest and the Rhine, 2.5 km south of Buhl (Baden).

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Ottersweier capital Ottersweier and district Unzhurst. The two districts also form residential areas within the meaning of Baden-Württemberg municipal code.

History

1774 moved the Countess Dowager Maria Victoria Pauline d'Arenberg their residence from Baden -Baden to Ottersweier to establish a convent school of the Augustinian choir women in the former residence house of the Jesuits.
