Otto Aasen

Career

Aasen won the 1917 and 1918 competitions in the Nordic combined at the Holmenkollen ski festival in Oslo. For these and other victories, he received in 1919, together with Thorleif Haug the Holmenkollen medal. He also won in 1918 and his first and only Norwegian championship.

In 1926 he joined the Nordic Ski World Championships on the normal hill ski jumping and won behind his compatriot Jacob Tullin Thams the silver medal. He also won several national titles in cross country skiing.

Aasen, 1916 was occupationally drawn to Rjukan, where he worked until 1964 at Norsk Hydro. He died there at the age of 89 years in 1983.
