Otto Bolesławowic

Otto ( Otto Polish Bolesławowic; * 1000, † 1033 ), was co-regent from 1031, and Duke of Poland from the noble family of the Piast dynasty.

Life

The youngest son of King Boleslaw the Brave and the Emnilda I was at the meeting in Gniezno in the year 1000 in the name of Emperor Otto III. baptized. Only the year 1018 when he headed Oda, the daughter of Margrave Ekkehard of Meissen and last wife of Bolesław, Poland, Otto becomes tangible in the sources as acting person. After the takeover of power Mieszko II Lambert, 1025, Otto, as his half-brother Bezprym went ( with the confused him, the sources in part ) initially in the opposition, then into exile. Otto's role after the fall of Mieszko, 1031, not to clarify with certainty. Maybe he is one of the Tetrarch, the Emperor Conrad II began in 1033 for Poland. Shortly afterwards Duke Otto died, possibly by murder.
