Otto II, Count of Rietberg

Count Otto II of Rietberg († July 18, 1389 ) was from 1365 to 1389 Count of Rietberg.

Otto II was the son of Conrad III. and his wife Ermeswint of Reifferscheidt born. After the death of his father Otto II took over in 1365 the county. He died on July 18, 1389 and was buried in the monastery of Marienfeld.

Marriage and issue

Otto II married about 1370 Adelheid of Lippe from the neighboring county. From this marriage the following children were born:

  • Konrad IV, Count 1389-1428
  • John, a canon in Cologne, ( ⚔ in the Battle of Detern September 27, 1426 )
  • Otto ( † 6 July to 7 October 1406), Bishop of Minden 1403-1406
