Otto Konrad ( born 1 November 1964 in Graz, Styria ) is a retired Austrian football player and OFB goalie coach as well as politicians ( TEAM ). Since June 2013 he is Member of the Salzburg Parliament.
Playing career
Otto Konrad was born in 1964 the son of a truss. He began in the youth department of the Graz sports clubs as a goalkeeper and striker. Only after 16 years, Conrad decided to play only as a goalkeeper. In 1981, he moved for 20,000 shillings to local rivals Sturm Graz. Since he was brought in as the fourth goalie, Konrad came only in August 1984, at age 19, in the Bundesliga by injuries the first goalkeeper to use.
Its use in training, he recommended more and more for other missions and in the fall of 1986, he became more common, in addition to the standard at that time goalkeeper Walter Saria used. Starting in 1987 Konrad was then the goalkeeper from Sturm Graz. The greatest successes in storm were the first round of the UEFA Cup and the fourth place in the Bundesliga.
In 1991 he moved to SV Austria Salzburg. There he experienced his greatest success. He was twice Austrian champion, reached the UEFA Cup final and played in the Champions League. In the UEFA Cup quarter- finals on 15 March 1994, Eintracht Frankfurt against Austria Salzburg, Konrad held on penalties two penalties and transformed itself decisive. His former goalie coach Marinko Koljanin said: " That was the most important moment in his life. Since he has become a very good goalie to a top goalie. "
September 28, 1994 Konrad was hit with a UEFA Champions League match against AC Milan from a water bottle and therefore had to be replaced. AC Milan won the match 3-0. Subsequently the points were AC Milan pulled off again because of this incident, the goal rate was not changed. Thus, the AC Milan and not Salzburger selection came in the knockout stages.
In 1993 and 1994 he won the crown footballer choice. In the 1994/95 season he scored with a header against a Meisterschaftstor Stahl Linz, which was voted Goal of the Year 1994.
Otto Konrad moved to Real Zaragoza in 1997, where he was first-choice goalkeeper. His international career ended in 1999. Upon his return would oblige him DSV Leoben and gave him for half a year at the Liebherr GAK. However, since there were some good Austrian goalkeeper at the time, he rarely came to missions. In the 1990 World Cup Konrad was third goalie. When qualifying for Euro 1996, he played some games. In 1994, he was goalkeeper for a short time, but was ranked back after an injury. Konrad came back after that of the national team.
In 2005 he also gave another short stint with the national league club Saxony castle in Carinthia, where he replaced the injured goalkeeper there. Despite his help, the Association of descent was not spared in the minor league. In July 2006, Konrad was persuaded to guard for the season 2006/ 07 the gate of the first Oberdorfer SK in the Salzburg Provincial League. The end of 2006 he took over for the spring season, the coach of the club chair.
Coaching career
In the fall of 2005 he took over for two games changed the post as goalkeeper coach of the Austrian national team before in the junior level of the OFB. From autumn 2006 to 2011 he was the goalie coach of the U -21 national team. Since the 2010/11 season was Otto Konrad also goalie coach of SV Grödig, where he was the coach team together with his old Austria Salzburg colleague Heimo pipes Berger and Franz Aigner.
Policy
In January 2013 was first announced that Otto Konrad will support the team in the future Stronach as a " health expert ". In March it was announced that he is running for the party at the Salzburg regional elections on May 5 at No. 2 on the state list.

Private
In addition to his athletic career Konrad learned early on in the occupation of truss. After the master's examination (1991 ) was among other owner of the company medical supply store Otto Konrad. In 2006 he completed the training for UEFA Pro license (soccer). 2007-2009 was followed by the Master of Business Administration for project and process management with study abroad programs in Toronto ( Rotman School of Management University), and in St. Gallen ( Malik Institute ).
From his first marriage is Otto Konrad father of a daughter ( Romina, born in 1996) and now lives with his partner ( Silke ) and her daughter in Salzburg
