Otto Lindblad

Otto Lindblad ( born March 31, 1809 in Karlstorp; † January 26, 1864 in Mellby ) was a Swedish composer.

Lindblad attended high school in Växjö and studied from 1829 to 1836 in Lund. From 1836 to 1838 he was a violinist in the orchestra of a theater group. He settled in 1838 in Lund, where he founded the choir of the University, who was one of the leading choirs in Sweden. Since 1847 he was organist in Mellby.

He created more than one hundred vocal works, including more than sixty quartets, trios fourteen, three duets, more than thirty five solo songs and choral works with soloists, as well as a number of works for the piano. He also created the Swedish royal anthem Ur svenska hjärtans djup s gång comes to a text by Carl Vilhelm August beach mountain. He also wrote an autobiography.
