Otto Weinkamm

Otto Weinkamm ( born February 13, 1902 in Aschaffenburg, † January 27, 1968 in Augsburg ) was a German jurist and politician ( BVP and CSU).

Life

Weinkamm studied at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich law and political sciences and economics. In 1929 he settled as a lawyer in Augsburg.

From 1930 to 1933 he represented the Bavarian People's Party in the city council of Augsburg. After the end of the Nazi regime in 1946, he was one of the founders of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria in Augsburg, there in 1946 also briefly elected mayor was ( an inauguration took place due to lack of authorization of the military government not ) and until 1952 Stadtrechtsrat. He held office from 1952 to 1954 as Minister of Justice of Bavaria.

From 1947 to 1949 Weinkamm a member of the Economic Council of the bizone. The Bavarian state parliament he was a member from 1953 to 1957 on, then he was from 1957 to 1965 Member of the German Bundestag. He was also from 1957 to 1961 Chairman of the CSU Regional Chapter Swabia and a member of the national executive of the CSU. He also belonged from 1959 to 1966 at the European Parliament.

Weinkamm was an honorary member of the K.D.St.V. Tuiskonia Munich in the CV. He was both a Knight of the Grand Cross of Merit with Star and the Order of Merit of the Free State of Bavaria.
