Ouanoukrim

The Jbel Ouanoukrim with its two peaks ( 4089 m Timzguida Ras and Ras Ouanoukrim 4083 m) is part of the High Atlas; it is the second highest mountain in Morocco and hence all of North Africa.

Location

The mountain is located in a south-westerly direction in the Toubkal National Park only 4 km ( straight line ) from the summit of Toubkal. Its two summits ( Timzguida Ras and Ras Ouanoukrim ) are separated by a 3968 m high mountain saddle.

Ascent

The mountain village of Imlil possible all-year ascent of Jbel Ouanoukrim is approximately equal to ' easy ' as that of the Toubkal, but is rarely undertaken because of its lower visibility. The winter snow melts in the spring ( April), except for a few small fields of snow in shady rock sinks completely.
