Oud-Heverlee

Oud -Heverlee is a town in the southeastern part of the Dijlelandes in the province of Flemish Brabant in the Kingdom of Belgium. This community in Flanders has 11,046 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012) and is located south of lions on the Dutch- French language border. Oud -Heverlee consists of the five boroughs Oud- Heverlee, Blanden, Haasrode, Sint- Joris- Weert and Vaalbeek.

Nature and Recreation

Despite its proximity to lions, the community is very green. Sea than 40% of the municipal area consists of forest, which is spread on the Meerdaalbos, the Egenhovenbos and Heverleebos. These forests are considered to be remnants of forest carbon. Also on the territory of the municipality lies the nature reserve " Doode Beemde ".
