Ougney - Douvot is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Ougney - Douvot is located on 279 m, 7 km west-southwest of Baume- les -Dames and about 21 km east-northeast of the city of Besançon ( straight line ). The village is located in the Doubs Valley, in the extreme north- western ridges of the Jura, between the plateau of Séchin in the north and the French (Jura - edge chain) in the south.

History

In the 12th century a priory was founded in Ougney -le- Bas, whose monks cleared the area and arable made ​​. The priory had until the 15th century inventory. To priory owned a manor house, which was rebuilt in the 15th century. Together with the Franche -Comté Ougney came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. The three districts of Ougney were summarized before the French Revolution in a community under the name Les Trois Oigney. Douvot merged in 1818 with Les Trois- Ougney the new community Ougney - Douvot.
