The Oulu Energia Areena (formerly Raksilan Jäähalli ) is an ice stadium in the district Raksila the Finnish city of Oulu.

History

The Oulu Energia Areena was opened in 1974 under the name Raksilan Jäähalli and then took 7,600 spectators. Since then it was rebuilt three times (1988, 1994 and 2004) and now offers only 6,614 spectators, including 1,854 in standing and 4,760 seated. 2006 saw the name change after a contract has been concluded with the energy company local Oulu Energia.

Sports

The Oulu Energia Areena is primarily used for ice hockey and is the home arena of the ice hockey clubs Oulu Kärpät and Kiekko laser.
