Our Kind of Traitor

Traitors like we (Original Title: Our Kind of Traitor ) is a novel by John le Carré on the Russian boss of a European-wide money-laundering syndicate who wants to settle after the murder of a friend by a rival gang to the UK because he fears for his life. The original edition was published on September 16, 2010 in London, the German translation by Sabine Roth on 27 October 2010 at Ullstein Verlag in Berlin.

During a vacation in Antigua- Briton Perry Makepiece playing tennis learns the supposed Russian businessman Dima know, who, as it later turns out, is the boss of a money laundering syndicate. Dima asks Perry to make contact with British intelligence, because he fears following the murder of a good friend for his life and would therefore like to settle with his family to Britain. It offers the British secret service in return for asylum for him and his family to extensive information about his money laundering syndicate. When British intelligence learns of this, he initiates an unofficial investigation with the disgraced agent Luke is appointed. Luke meets with Dima in Paris and is making plans to bring Dima soon as possible after the UK as he hovers in mortal danger after the scheduled signing of business papers with which he assigns his syndicate to a rival gang.
