Our Lady of Soufanieh

Soufanieh is a Christian suburb of Damascus, capital of Syria. It is located northeast of the old town.

Since 27 November 1982, reported in Soufaniah of alleged Marian apparitions. The icon of the Nazzour family should weep olive oil, Myrna Nazzour receives stigmata and messages of Mary and Jesus Christ. The main theme was the unity among the Christians of the West and the East as well as the call to Christians, not to mention their often oppressed brothers in the East. While Nazzour Myrna is Greek Catholic, her husband is Greek Orthodox.

The House of Nazzour family has become a Marienverehrungsort, which is attended by both Christians and Muslims. During Holy Week 2004, the mayor of Damascus came over.
