Out of print

An object is out of print (OOP ) when the manufacturer ceases production of the article and this is therefore no longer after sale of stocks sold as new in the market. Mostly this applies to books, the concept can also be used for other media, such as music CDs or video DVDs.

Frequently sooner or later appears a comparable successor article or a reprint. If this is not the case or it is not foreseeable, the out-of -print object at a correspondingly high demand may become a collector's item.
