Outapi (often mistakenly called Uutapi ) is since 1998 the capital and administrative seat of the Omusati Region of Namibia and has 4577 inhabitants ( 2005).
It is in the same constituency. For constituency Outapi following villages include Ohamuyala, Okayekongwe, Omholo, Oshima, Okakwa, Ohamwaala, Okalunga, Okanghete, Onamulunga, Okaile ( Onakayale ) Omukoko, Omushii and Ohambalanganga.
Current Mayor of Outapi is Mateus Ndeshitila ( SWAPO ).
Outapi since 1997 has the status of a city and is considered the fastest growing city in Omusati and currently has 6600 inhabitants.

Outapi has an airfield, a hospital, several schools and various retail stores. There are branches of the three major banks of Namibia as well as several hotels. On the two big markets " Outapi Open Market " and " Onhimbu Open Market " There are more than 327 shops.
